QUINCY – A Korean fried chicken restaurant, part of a chain that's reportedly one of the fastest growing in the country, is expected to open in North Quincy in the coming months.

The restaurant, bb.q Chicken, opened its first location in 1995. A manager of the North Quincy restaurant, Wei Zheng, went before the Quincy License Board for approval in March.

The restaurant will be at 60 Billings Road, across the street from Burke's Seafood.

Officials at the city clerk's office say they've been in touch with the franchisees and expect the restaurant to open soon. The opening was delayed due to supply chain issues with equipment.

The new owners did not reply to requests for comment submitted via their website Thursday.
